After last week’s call for questions (for email subscribers only), I received not one, not two, but about 10 different emails from men who wanted some training tips so they can be more appealing to women.

Their primary goal is getting more girls so it was not surprising to me that they were all in the 17-24 age range.

If you’re a regular reader, you already know I recommend dating many women before you marry, and there’s no better time to do that than when you’re still very young (youth is a quality in itself that no amount of money can replicate).

One way you can really increase your close rate with women is by improving your physique.

The better you look, the more girls you get – everything else being equal. If you do not agree with this, you’re a retard, plain and simple.

That said, not everything has the same effect when it comes to appealing to women.

Training to Maximize Sex Appeal

1) Women care the most about the front display muscles.

  • Big arms with biceps that poke out of your shirt
  • Wide shoulders and a built chest which gives you that manly look
  • Abs if you live in a country where you are likely to walk around shirtless

Take any man whose physique women admire who gets a lot of girls in bed and they usually have these.

Women do not care about how much you can squat, your deadlift PR, your mile time, VO2 Max, or any of those things. MEN care about those things.

A heavy squat is impressive to other men who lift. WOMEN. DO. NOT. CARE. HOW. HEAVY. YOU. LIFT.

If the goal is more women, focus on hypertrophy not pure strength. Unless of course…

Anyone who’s built and has gone out with women will tell you that they will find an excuse to touch your biceps (they’re trying to see how they feel).

There is something about the arms/shoulders/chest combination that is viscerally attractive to women. Your training needs to maximize that.

Best chest exercises: Bench press, incline bench press, machine chest press, chest flyes/peck dec

Best shoulder exercises: Overhead press, lateral raises (cable, dumbbells, machine – pick anything), facepulls or something else for the rear delts

Best bicep exercises: Preacher curl, incline curl, hammer curl, reverse curl

Best tricep exercises: Tricep pushdown, skullcrusher, tricep extension

Best abs exercises: Leg raises, total abdominal machine, fork putdowns and plate pushaways

2) LEANNESS. Do not be fat.

Two things that significantly improve your attractiveness to women:

  • A flat stomach
  • A sharp jawline

Easily something a lot of the gym bros focused on getting “stronger on the deadlift/squat” neglect.

Again, women do not care how heavy you can lift. That is impressive to men alone.

Women care much more about the aesthetics of the lean body than any strength you gain from being overly fat.

At the very minimum, you want to have a flat stomach. This is not hard and all you need to do is eat a high protein diet and cut out sugar based foods, vegetable oils, and minimize grain based meals. Nothing very complex and you don’t even need to track your calories.

Normally I recommend everyone to track their diet and count calories, but since you are in the 17-24 age range, you don’t really need to. Just minimize sugar, vegetable oil, and grains and you’ll get there.

Jawline: Largely comes down to losing fat. As you cut down the calories, you will lose fat everywhere, including your face. This will make your jawline sharper. EVERYONE looks better with a sharper jawline.

The difference losing fat makes to your face.

If you don’t have a good jawline or don’t want to diet to get there, you can just grow a beard. Just make sure that you keep it well groomed.

Abs: Does not make as big of a difference as people think. A flat stomach gets you 80% of the results with 20% of the work ESPECIALLY if you live in a country where you will be wearing a shirt any time you are outdoors. If you keep getting leaner (you will need to track calories), you will eventually have well defined visible abs.

3) Posture.

Having good posture typically comes down to practicing good posture. You have to keep reminding yourself to sit with good posture, to keep your shoulders back, etc.

It is not something you can learn from a blog post alone because for everyone, the reason for bad posture is different. Different muscles are weak causing compensation from other muscles.

A few common factors that I see all the time that merit fixing are:

a) Rounded Shoulders

Rounded shoulders make you look like a wimp.

You’ll need to actually exercise your shoulder muscles and consciously make an effort to push the shoulder blades in their correct place.

The best exercise you can do to help with this is face pulls. Strengthen the mid traps and rear delts along with the upper and mid back as a whole.

b) Forward Neck (text neck)

This is an outcome of text messaging and staring at your phone screen looking downwards all day.

It makes you look like a chicken: weak, nervous and unconfident.

Stand against a wall every day for a few minutes with your head straight until this is fixed.

Use your smartphone with proper posture.

MANUALLY push your head backward with your hands every few hours to help set it straight.

c) Anterior Pelvic Tilt

Anterior pelvic tilt is a prominent arch in your lower back created by your hip bone as a result of tilting forward … also due to excessive sitting. (It’s almost like the human body was not built to sit on a chair all day.)

My recommendation: Hire a physiotherapist to teach you good posture. This is not something you can easily fix with just working out and watching videos about. A physiotherapist is cheap and good posture will pay off in various ways for the rest of your life.

4) Fair skin.

Now this is a weird item to have in this list but I’ve always found that me having fair skin has helped me a lot in the dating market. It makes you look more sophisticated and well bred.

(I’m in India and Indian women love fair skin, and your mileage may vary depending on your local culture).

If you’re in a country that values fair skin like mine, just train indoors and don’t do cardio on machines which have strong sunlight on them.

Sounds dumb but keeping your skin fair will make women more receptive to cold approaches, swipe right on you, etc. Your close rate with women will drop if you become too dark.

Simply how things are in many parts of the world. All I can say is that the fair skin premium is a far bigger problem for women than for men because a woman’s looks are far more important to men than the other way around.

If you’re worried about vitamin D, you can take D3 supplements.

Now as a much older man than a 20 year old, I can tell you that nothing beats getting a lot of sunlight, but if your big goal is more women and you’re in a country that values skin fairness, fair skin is a huge advantage.

You already know which of these two guys will have better luck with dating.

5) Proportions.

Ok Harsh. You said big shoulders, big chest, big arms, lean, and good posture. What do you think of my photo? Big shoulders, arms, chest, lean, good posture… women should be all over me.

Joke. Ronnie is a G.

No disrespect to Coleman. The point I’m trying to make is that proportions matter (Ronnie is “big everything”).

Big shoulders, arms, chest, etc. does not mean you should only train those muscles.

You can emphasize them in your training (eg. 2 push days in a week and only 1 day for legs and 1 day for back) but it doesn’t mean you neglect everything else.

If you have big everything but chicken legs, you will still look like shit.

Do not skip leg day.

If you have a lagging body part, prioritize that too.

You don’t need a top 1% physique just to impress women, but you can make a top 1% physique much less attractive with chicken legs or a pencil neck.

That’s really it. Remember there are things other than physique that help significantly when it comes to women (discussed here) and your body is not the sole factor.

Recommended Program

If you have a few bucks, I would STRONGLY recommend The Achilles Program by AJA Cortes if your goal is being attractive to women.

Why? Because unlike most programs, this is a program specifically written to help you achieve the “ideal” male physique that is most attractive to women.

The focus is not only on building muscle, but also on being lean (has assigned cardio, diet advice, etc.)

You don’t HAVE TO have this program to get results (of course) but if you can afford it, it produces the results you are looking for.

It is a 12 week program specifically written with one purpose: to make you more attractive to women.

Do it for 12 weeks and see the results in your body (and your dating app photos) for yourself.

Grab your copy of The Achilles Program here.
