As regular readers already know, the inspiration for me to start LifeMathMoney came from Victor Pride.

I had been reading his blog Bold and Determined for many years, and I got my hands on his book Spartan Entrepreneur: The Blog Artist’s Handbook. (Note: Don’t bother reading it now. It’s very old and out of date. The advice in that book does not work at all anymore.)

His book was a game changer back in 2017 and I learned that if I started a blog, I could help millions of young men at scale.

Given that everything I wrote came from real life experience and not mere theories, LMM gained traction and Victor Pride himself became a reader and recommended my site to his entire audience:

Over time Victor and I would end up doing quite a bit of business together (I was an affiliate of his). However, in 2020 Victor shut down his website after his conversion to hardcore Christianity.

I’ve speculated as to why Victor Pride shut down B&D, but the long story short is that his website disappeared except for whatever was left of it on the Internet Archive.

In the last few years, I’ve seen 2 things happen:

1. There has been a rise of scammers selling his work on various platforms.
2. The Internet Archive has become increasingly unreliable and has been subject to multiple hacking attempts and DDoS attacks. In many places, the Internet Archive has been completely inaccessible for weeks at a time.

I decided to build an archive version of B&D to solve both the problems of scammers selling B&D content and having a publicly accessible version in case the Internet Archive goes down again for a long duration (or permanently).

Design decisions while building the archive:

1. The archive is a scraped version of what is available on the Internet Archive. Nothing new has been added except for a few technical fixes.
2. There is no monetization on the website. The goal of the site is purely to preserve the information on the web and to minimize scammers from being able to make money from his work. I will pay hosting and maintenance costs from my own pocket.
3. I ran a script to remove most of the sales links I could find on the website. This is because nothing will be delivered if you make a “purchase” as there is no back end logic (it is a scraped website).
4. Pagination, forms, etc. will not work (again, because it’s a scrape). This is why the Archives page has been changed to become the default home page. This allows you to see a list of all the readable posts without needing pagination.
5. External links have been preserved to maintain the flavor of the website where possible. Although many of these links will 404 given they are often over a decade old.
