Why Most People Fail at Everything (Tough Love)

People think they fail because they lack resources or opportunities or ideas.

But this is not the real reason they fail at life.

You can acquire resources, you can hustle to get opportunities, and you can copy other people’s ideas.

Look around you. There are people who were poorer than you, had less opportunities than you, and even dumber than you, and they’ve made it much better than you have.

The reason people fail is not resources or any other external factor but the fact that they are not SERIOUS about wanting to succeed.

They are TOO COMFORTABLE with their life to want to push themselves hard to change anything.

I will prove this with 3 concrete examples:

1) Health.

Literally ANYBODY can be lean and healthy. Eating in a caloric deficit costs nothing. All you have to do is stop eating highly palatable foods every goddamn day.

Going for a run costs nothing. Gym memberships are cheap as hell. Walking is fucking FREE.

Yet how many people around you are lean, athletic, and strong?

How many people walk more than they absolutely have to?

How many people can’t put down their McDonald’s and sweets that they “need” after their meals?

Why are most people around you either weak dweebs or obese as hell?

How many people can’t go 3 months without watching porn?

The reason is not resources and a lack orf opportunity. It is because they are UNSERIOUS and TOO COMFORTABLE with their present unhealthy lives.

They all “want to improve their health” because wanting things is something that anyone can do and does not require any effort.

Actually improving their health would involve being uncomfortable and putting serious effort over the long run which is why they don’t do it.

2) Online business.

Online business costs nothing and has zero barriers to entry.

On the internet, it does not matter whether you are male, female, black, white, Indian, Chinese, Moslem, or whatever else.

It costs no money to start and grow social media accounts and it costs less than a dinner to get a domain and host a website (nowadays you don’t even need a website).

If you are the proud owner of a smartphone and are educated enough to read this, well congratulations, you have all that is necessary to at least make some money from the internet.

But how many people make even $1 from the internet?

They use the internet all day. They spend half their awake hours interacting with their computers using apps and consuming content that make other people money.

The highest grossing YouTuber was a child who filmed himself playing with his toys. There are even people in third world countries (who have far less opportunity and resources than you) who make money by doing labor on Fiverr.

Why can’t you with all your resources and opportunity make any money on the internet despite using the net every day of your life?

Why are you a perpetual consumer and not a producer?

It is because you are UNSERIOUS and TOO COMFORTABLE working your job and spending your paycheck.

For many of you, losing your career (e.g. to a scandal) would be beneficial to you because it would mean you have no paycheck to turn to and MUST focus all of your attention on building a business. This won’t work for everyone (many don’t have the brains needed to build a business) but for many, getting fired and losing your career would be a blessing in disguise.

3) Learning.

Everyone knows they should spend time learning new skills and reading good books in timeless fields like history, philosophy, science, etc.

But how many people are learning any skills?

How many people can’t write a simple Python program to automate a basic task?

How many people can’t make a web scraper to copy a website off the internet?

How many people have no idea how Bitcoin or Ethereum works in technical detail?

How many people read more than 3-4 books a year? (Many don’t even read a single one after they finish their education.)

Look around you and you’ll see that most people haven’t even learned basic skills like how to fix a flat tyre, how to use AWS, how to import something from China, etc.

None of these are costly or difficult to learn. They are all useful skills that most people will say they “want to learn”.

The reason you don’t read 20 books a year, can’t code basic programs, etc. is not because you lack resources or opportunity.

It is because you are UNSERIOUS and TOO COMFORTABLE with your present life.

What you need is not resources of opportunity but a kick on your ass from a size 10 boot to get you to do anything.

The reason you fail at everything is because you have the mentality of a donkey who only does something when he is coerced into doing it.

Without your employer’s stick keeping you in line, you would spend your entire day watching videos and doomscrolling the internet.

But ok, let’s keep pretending that it’s a lack of resources and opportunity. Whatever makes you feel better about your pathetic existence.

But remember that the river of time keeps flowing and those who live like slaves go their entire lives never having experienced what it feels like to be the master of their own selves.
