I’ve been in online business for 10+ years and operated my tax/law consulting firm for about 12 years.
I’ve seen tons of people fail and succeed over the years. A few common patterns stand out.
I’ve always maintained that business is in people’s genetics. Some clients are obsessed with it and will continuously be trying something or the other till one works out. Others are comfortable at their job and have accepted their fate as a servant.
I’m not the first person to come up with this distinction. Nietzsche identified the same thing in a different sense.
He called it slave morality and master morality. Where the masters create morality, the slaves respond to master morality with their slave morality.
Perhaps sometime in the future scientists will be able to isolate the business gene but for now, here is how you can know if you’ve got it:
1) You spend your time consuming high quality information on useful topics like reading about business, crypto, red pill dating, etc. instead of watching brain dead TikTok reels and prank videos like the general population.
2) You are always doing something or the other. You feel guilt if you waste time. If you waste a few days, you will literally feel sadness for doing it. If you are a pure blooded Aryan like me, I’m sure you also have no idea how everyone else is just so unambitious. I don’t want to merely exist, I want to win and conquer. It’s in my blood.

3) You can’t stand losers who waste their life doing nothing. The last thing you want to do is hang around with 5 people all day talking about “life”. Meanwhile if you say “I want a life as in [INSERT SITCOM]”, you probably don’t have the business gene.
4) When you do something, you go ALL IN. When you started hitting the gym, did you spend hours researching fitness on the internet? Or did you just go an hour and forget about it? Did it occupy all of your thoughts for a few months or was it just another thing you started doing?
5) You are always building something or the other. There is something always going on in life. And it’s not the usual “I’m dating X person” or “I’m so said I had a breakup” loop that most losers have going on (hint: they are trying to live like a sitcom character).
6) Your natural people skills are not that great. Social skills did not come naturally to you (they tend to come easily to low IQ people, especially low IQ women). You had to learn them with practice and reading books. You simply do not care that much if people like you or not. You are not trying to be liked by everyone you see (which is a general low IQ and feminine trait).
7) You get annoyed and pissed off when spoken to highhandedly by a “boss”. Does not consider “sucking up” to be an acceptable way to live life (even if it means a faster promotion). You are a problem employee, sometimes insubordinate.
8) You read a LOT. When you’re not working, you’re reading. Be it articles on the internet or books or books (my recommendations here), or something else. You are always trying to get useful information that you can apply to your life.
Now if you are someone who fits almost none of these, chances are that you are not meant for business and that’s fine.
Not everyone has the personality to take risks and be their own master. The world needs its dentists, janitors, accountants, etc.
And I’m not saying that as an insult. The system needs employee morality people just like it needs business morality people. It is a FACT.
Also, if you do find yourself meeting most of the traits above, it does not guarantee that you will be an entrepreneur.
Most people are too distracted and never get started. They spend their time watching YouTube videos, brain dead reels, sitcoms, or being distracted by other forms of entertainment.
But meeting the traits above does show that you have what it takes if you put in the work.
You know how some people have good bodybuilding genetics? They have good insertions, wide bone structure, they put on muscle easily, etc.
They bench 100g in 3 months while the rest of us peasants take years to get there. It took me 2+ years of proper training to bench 100kg for 1 rep. I have shitty genetics for powerlifting. Tall, thin wrists, etc.
It is how it is.
But just because someone has good genes for bodybuilding doesn’t mean they become a good bodybuilder. Most of them never see the inside of the gym at all, while others lack the discipline to get there.
The same is true with business. Most never even get started. Most of the ones that do lack the patience to put in the months and years it takes to succeed. They want to be rich instantly. It doesn’t work like that.
MINDSET is just as important, if not MORE important, than genetics.
Even easy businesses like building an X account, web design, and copywriting take months to produce results. It doesn’t happen in 2 weeks.
The point is – if you have the business gene, then focus on building a business. You have what it takes. You just need to put in the work. With the right amount of tries and effort, you WILL make it.
If you don’t have the business gene, no resource on the internet can help you. You need to learn to be content with what you have. It is how it is. Some people buy expensive shoes, others clean the floor they walk on, and we need both types of people.
